MAKE SURE YOUR TATTOOS LAST
I provide my clients an after-care card which includes all of this information at the end of every tattoo session
When your tattoo is done, I cover it with a sanitary “derma shield” protective wrap. (if you have sensitivity too adhesives, we can discuss other options)
I always recommend leaving the wrap on for 2-3 days if possible. (it’s water resistant so you can shower with it on) This wrap serves as a “healing bubble” it almost tricks your skin into thinking the wound has already scabbed over, therefore starting the healing process a little sooner.
When it’s time to take the wrap off, do so under running water (in the shower is best)
Once the wrap is off, give your new tattoo a gentle wash with unscented soap (I recommend Dr. Bronner’s) Then pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Once tattoo is washed and dried, take a small amount of unscented lotion (I recommend Aveeno Lotion) and moisturize 2-3 times a day. The best way to make sure your tattoo heals properly is to keep it moisturized!
Repeat with the lotion for the next 2 weeks
If anything fades, I provide free touch ups with in 6 months of getting the tattoo. If you exceed the 6 months, then you will be charged a $50 fee for touch ups.
AFTER CARE
Do not soak your tattoo for 2 weeks! This includes (baths, pools, jacuzzies, oceans, saunas, swimming, and surfing)
Stay out of direct sunlight (you will feel it burn)
Do not itch, scratch or pick at your tattoo for this can cause potential scarring
